4 Foods You Should Stop Eating

Many of the foods we eat nowadays are not as healthy or safe as they should be. That's why it's important for all of us to be concerned about many of the foods we eat. The recent outrage about the pink slime that was found in ground beef has been a wake up call for many people. Hopefully it has also helped people to realize everything that's sold at grocery stores and fast food restaurants are not as good as they seem.

Here are four foods you should stop eating.

1) Shrimp

Shrimp from many parts of the world are usually tainted with chemicals that are used to clean shrimp farm pens. Imported shrimps is also often contaminated with antibiotics that have been banned in the US. Shrimp from the US is also just as bad as shrimp other countries. The highest levels of toxins are found in shrimp from the US.

2) Margarine

Margarine has been considered a heart-healthy alternative to butter. Unlike butter, margarine actually lowers your good cholesterol (HDL) and raises your bad cholesterol (LDL). Margarine contains polyunsaturated fatty acids. Large consumptions of polyunsaturated fatty acids have been linked to heart disease, obesity, and cancer.

3) Salad Dressing

A chemical called titanium dioxide that is found in sunscreen and paints is often added to salad dressing and other processed foods such as canned icing to them appear whiter. Salad dressing also contains hundreds of calories and over 15 grams of fat. The best option for salad dressing is to make your own.

4) Agave Nectar

Agave Nectar has been considered a healthy alternative to sugar in recent years. Even though agave nectar is natural it is a highly processed sweetener and has more fructose than high fructose corn syrup. The large amounts of fructose that is found in agave nectar can cause major health problems such as obesity, fatty liver disease, and other health problems. You should avoid buying any variety of agave even if it is label as natural, blue, or organic.

The 5 Benefits of Zumba

Zumba is a Latin inspired fitness program that has become a worldwide sensation and has become very popular in the U.S. The reasons Zumba has become so popular are because it's a fun fitness program, there are no complicated moves, and the steps are easy to follow. Zumba is so fun and addictive it's like your at a "fitness party" instead of your typical aerobics class. Since its official introduction in 2001, Zumba has become the world's largest and most successful dance fitness program.

The History of Zumba

Zumba was created by Columbian aerobic instructor Alberto Perez in the mid 1990s. It was created by accident when Perez forgot his traditional aerobics music for his fitness class. He had no choice but to use his personal music which consisted of salsa and merengue. He had to quickly improvise and come up with new dance steps to go with the music. The class loved the new fitness program and it quickly became the most popular class at the fitness center. Perez had no idea his happy accident would become so popular. He decided to bring it to the U.S. in Miami, Fl. Perez met up with two entrepreneurs named Alberto Perlman and Alberto Aghion. All three had a goal of making Zumba a worldwide brand. Their persistence paid off and they were able to successful achieve that goal.

The Benefits of Zumba

Despite the simplicity of Zumba, many participants have received several benefits from the dance fitness program.

Some of the benefits people have received from Zumba are:

1) Relieves Stress
2) Tones your body
3) Full body workout
4) For all ages
5) Increased happiness

If you are interested in being apart of a Zumba "fitness party", attend a local class or check out any of Zumba's instructional DVDs.
